Xmas Wish List

Since Miranda (my sister) made one on her blog (http://harukitsune.blogdrive.com/ ) I decided to make my wish list.

I would like:
1. 20 GB iPod (though the extra features on the iPod mini are tempting)
2. Pokèmon LeafGreen (Yes, I am in college, yet I am a Pokèmaniac still)
3. Kingdom Hearts: CoM
4. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
5. Hero
6. Various MST3K stuff
7. The Divine Comedy (with a picture book)
8. More Echoing Green music

Will it happen? Mostly, but I'm not sure about all of it. Did I mention I love the Echoing Green? Because I do!

Oh, one more thing...

Miranda took her ACT yesterday. I feel bad for her because she seemed discouraged about it. Now she feels community college for her first year is her only option. I hope she prays about it before she makes her decision. Maybe its because I'd love to see her come to CBC so bad, but I just have the feeling that it isn't right for her. Well, I don't think it would be bad for her, but I'd love to see her here. I guess you can't make people do something that they don't want to do, right? Not that she doesn't want to go to school with me. She's my best friend, so I want to see her succeed, but I cannot impose my own dreams on her life. God will guide her, and I trust His judgement. Miranda, if you're reading this, I support you 100%, and I love you.

You Just Can't Control Someone's Furture

Currently Listening To: "Arrival" by the Echoing Green (I LOVE the Echoing Green! ::Huggles EG::
Currently Playing: Final Fantasy 1 Dawn of Souls (on my awesome new SP)
Currently Reading: A Wrinkle In Time (I WILL finish it!)
Current Devotions: Nehmiah and Revelations
Last MST3K Watched: Santa Claus Conquers The Martians

So, how is Greg surviving? Well, I really shouldn't even be writing this, since I still havent started on my final draft for a script due at some point tomorrow. I just can't get focused to do it. I want to do other things... like this! =)

Okay, last week I got a huge paper done, and I had to do a speech on it. I went last, and so my time was cut short (but obviously I don't feel too bad). Finals report: I have...

Completed 2 Finals for 2 classes on the same day.

1. World Lit- Definetly my favorite class for the semester. It's too bad that the final was insanely long. I had to recognize thirteen different passages from different stories (the class before our Prof gave us the page numbers to be prepared) by stating who the author was, the name of the work, and give three sentances about how it fit with the rest of the story. I knew about this, since the midterm was a lot like this, so I was prepared. However, I wasn't prepared to write two in class essays that had to be two pages long! I kinda freaked out a bit at first. It wasn't hard, but it was very long. I took this test at 10:30 and got out around 12:45-1:00. It was not good, but the grade was. I got 204 out of 206 points and a class grade of 97%! I contribute this to having a wonderful teacher and reading every story we had to read.

2. TV Production Studio- The test was the same as the class mid term. I had done very poorly on the midterm (70%) so I needed to redeem myself. I studied hard and repeated the terms over and over. I didn't do as well as i thought I did, but I made an 80%, so that should even it out a bit. We also have to factor in how we did in the studio lab, so I think I should make it out of the class with a B.

I have two more finals to complete. On Monday I take my Theology III test. I'm not excited about it that much, but I'm glad to get the class over with. the best part of this class has been the people I had it with, for sure. Any class with Crazy Dave is a good one. I also have to turn in my script for Scriptwriting, so I guess that's an unofficial final. I need to come up with seven pages worth of material, plus fix some mistakes in my earlier parts. Then on Tuesday I have my final for Communications Research. It'll be nice to get this one out of the way. I'm glad the paper is done for this class (13 pages worth of pain) but the final will be probably painful, too. The Prof is a nice guy, but his tests are a pain to study for.

Once the finals are out of the way, I get to go home for break! Yay! Steve (a friend of mine on my hall) is driving me home. First we have to spend the night at his grandparents house for the night. I'm not bothered by this, because if we left to go straight home on Tuesday, we'd get there around 11 or so. Plus Steve would have to go from there to Ohio. Oh well, I arrive one day later than I thought, big deal.

Friday night Mona and I went to Josh's house (my roommate and drama team leader). We had a retreat for my drama team, so we went along because we thought it would be fun. It was; even though we had a two hour drive there and back. Since half the team couldn't go, the ones that were could bring friends. I brought Mona, Josh brought his girlfriend Melissa, our friend Jesse brought his friend Allison, and the team brought along Steve Campbell (a former member of the team, and roommate of the Steve driving me home). Jesse and Allison have previously made comments about Mona and I's relationship (that I let Mona walk all over me), so Mona and I had prepared an act that we were going to do. We were going to show what it was like for someone to be walked all over.  We let the others know beforehand, so they wouldn't be shocked at Mona's actions. While at Josh's house Mona would do things like: tell me to go downstairs and get her purse for her, bring it up, get her a mint and put it in her mouth, then bring the purse back downstairs. I also had to get her food, warm up her hot dog bun, and other crazy things. She did this all in a demanding voice, too, which is hard for her because being demanding is not her personality. The culmination of this "act" was when Mona gave me an "early" Christmas gift. I opened it and it was foot lotion. She then told me in front of everyone that it was so I could give her foot massages, which I had to do right there in front of everyone. It was actually fun, because I purposely made it ticklish, and I kept making Mona laugh. I had a lot of fun doing it, actually, and I hope Jesse and Allison took notice of it. So, we'll see if Jesse gives me a talking to about letting Mona walk all over me or something

Once we finished watching the third movie of the evening, Mona and I decided to head back (we didn't want to spend the night). We made it back safely, which is a miracle, because I always get confused on where to go when I'm at Josh's house. Two hours is a long time to drive, especially when you have a headache. Mona found this out, because she had to drive (since I don't have my license, hehehe). I kind of paniced at one point, since her gas gauge doesn't work correctly, I thought that we were going to run out of gas soon. Thoughts of running out of gas in the middle of the night flooded my mind, so we stopped somewhere and filled up. We made it back and we got to sleep in the next day. It turns out we left before the chaos happened. Two of the guests (who I previously mentioned, try to guess) went outside in the middle of the night to look for a cat they heard outside. They came back in, left a few doors open and lights on, and went to bed. Needless to say, Josh's parents wern't too happy. Let's just say they've been banned from the house...

Last night Mona and I had our third month anniversary. It wasn't necessarily on the actual date, but since we'de be out of town, we decided to have it early. Plus it was our early Christmas celebration. We went and ate at the Olive Garden where our waiter had stinky BO (but the food was good besides that). We went to the park for a little while. We went down to where the lake was, and we were going to sit on a blanket when we saw all these Geese hanging around the lake. Their leader turns, looks at us, starts quacking or whatever, and begins to kinda charge/walk towards us. Well, the nineteen or so geese behind him decided to follow suit. So we had about twenty geese headed straight towards us. Needless to say we were a bit freaked out (since when does stuff like this happen? Mona and I charged back at them, causing them to panic a bit (since geese get scared easily). We slowly backed away and found another place to chill for awhile. And chill we (or I) did. It was pretty cold out, and although I had a coat on, I started to freeze. Then we went to see The Polar Express, where I delighted in ruining the movie for Mona. You see, I kept wishing to see the CGI kids somehow die (they were all asking for it, they kept putting themselves in situations where they would die. I kept suggesting ways it could happen, and Mona kept telling me to stop. I couldn't of course.

Today I take on my friend Melissa in a competitive game of DDR. She is doomed, because I am the DDR Master! She thinks she's good, but I can beat her. She is doomed!

Well, I must get ready. Dave and Amy are having me and Mona over for lunch. I can't wait!

Yeah, it's been too long

Currently Listening to: "I Play Dead" Demon Hunter. Short update. No, I haven't died, but I feel like it. Sorry for the lack of updates. I realized how much of a hell this semester has been. Yeah, tons of work. Plus I always forget to update this. Not that I don't want to, but I usually find myself not doing it. Sad, isn't it? Well, I'm still alive... somewhat. My mind isn't all here... I think. All kidding aside, I'm just tired. I can't wait for break. I'm half tempted to try not to go to work over break. But if I want an iPod, i have to pay for half. ::Sighs:: If only those things wern't so snazzy! I <3 Apple. I also picked up a Gameboy Advance SP. I absolutely LLLLOOOOVVVVVEEEEE it. It's way better than the original GBA (and it was pretty good to begin with). I picked up Final Fantasy 1&2: Dawn of Souls, which is quite addicting. I promise to update once I'm done with Finals.

The Masks We Wear

Currently Listening To: "Wildfire by POD Currently Reading: Being A Christian Without Being An Idiot Current Devotions: 2 Chronicles and 2 Corinthians Last MST3K Watched: Boggy Creek 2 Well, let me begin my update with yesterday. It was Mona's birthday, so we went out for the day. We had dinner at the Olive Garden, and it was very good. I haven't been to one since I was like 12, so it was nice to try it out again. Afterwards we went to the local park for awhile. I forget the name of it, but it was really cool. There was a spring and soem caves, so we'll have to go again another night. We then left to go to the Palace Movie Theater to see Spiderman 2. I've never seen the first one, but everyone said that it wasn't necessary. I knew the story of Spiderman, so I knew I wouldn't be lost. ... By the way, I know this is completely random, but right now on tv there's this really weird guy figure skating with this girl. He looks really creepy, and I know I would never want to skate with him. Call me judgemental, but oh well. Back to Spiderman, anyhow it was a great movie. Whenever I think of a Spiderman villain, I think of Doc Oc. They made a great choice with him for this movie, and I was overall very impressed with the movie. After Spiderman, Mona wanted to go to the Mudhouse (a coffee house) to get some drink she hasn't had in awhile. I especially wasn't thrilled, because it was the night before Halloween. Sure enough, downtown was swamped with people in costumes. I'm not too thrilled being around huge crowds of people, but I was alright. It was cool, because we saw some of our friends at the coffee house, so we got to chat for awhile. When we got back Mona repainted my fingernails for today. Tonight we're going to my church's Harvest party (Can't call it Halloween party because Halloween is "evil") and it's for the College kids. We're going to my pastor's house for it, so I'm sure it'll be fun. I'm dressing up "Emoth" (the combination of Emo and Goth). I feel like I'm going crazy. This week is going to be hectic for me. I have to write a ten page script, finish my video project, write a radio script, and get a variety of other stuff done. I know God will help me through this, but sometimes I feel like it's too much. I won't give up, though. Well, I better get going. Until next time... -TNS

Bliss and Blisters

Currently Listening to: "Leaf" by MeWithoutYou Currently Reading: Dante/Beowulf/Wrinkle In Time Current Devotions: 1 Chronicles and Luke Currently Playing: Nothing =( Last MST3K Watched: Laserblast Well, it's kinda been awhile since I've wrote, so here's a gift from me, a new entry. I went with my drama team to Nebraska almost two weeks ago. It was a nice trip, though it had it's downsides. Pros: I got streched in my walk with God Got to know more people from my school that I hadn't known before Got to get some experience shooting film on the trip Had a really good smoothie The fun eight hour car ride Got to visit a state I had yet to see Cons: Dealt and worked with morons (who shall remain nameless) Heard too many catchphrases during the weekend The shower The eight hour car trip that get old every once and awhile Seeing both the Brown Recluse and Black Widow on people's houses I have to say Nebraska wasn't as flat as I thought it would be. I liked my stay there, but I still want to live in Seattle or Maine. I got some rest from my sickness, and now I only cough every once and awhile. It took long enough, sheesh. Listening to the new MeWithoutYou cd, and it's very good. It's very different, but I like it that way. I'm sad because there's so much good music out there, and I have to be careful about my spending. =( There's Roper, Showbread, JimmyEatWorld, Mute Math, and soon He Is Legend is coming out with someting. I wish things wern't so tight right now. Had a relaxing Fall Break this past weekend. I read a bit of the Divine Comedy to get a head start in World Lit. It's an awesome piece of work. I read the companion for it last year, but not the real thing. I'm loving what I'm reading here, though. Now I am inspired to read more. I got Beowulf to read for fun, and I also have to finish A Wrinkle In Time. It feels good to read a good story with some hot chocolate on a nice cloudy day like today. Speaking of cloudy days, since I enjoy them so, I went for a walk today. I decided to explore campus and get away from my room. I took my camera and did some shots with it. I need to do that again on a cloudy day soon. Dave and I met Called2Serve (Ryan) from the Seven Project yesterday. He was such a nice guy and I truly enjoyed hanging out with him. We had fun chatting about life, the seven, and other things. I hope we can do it again sometime. Well, I better go, since I don't want to stay up late. Hopefully I will be able to update more. Talk to you later! -TheNorthSea

Sick Be I

Currently Listening To- "Reborn Impowered" by Living Sacrifice Currently Playing: FFX-2 (kinda, but more on that later) Current Devotions: 1 Chronicles and Luke Currently Reading: Required school reading, though I want to read Till We Have Faces Gah, I feel stressed out right now. I have quite a few projects that are standing ominously in the background. They're bothering me so much that I've actually set video games aside for the moment in an attempt to focus on what I need to get done. I don't think I've actually done that before. It's kinda sad, because I hate picking up games from a long break, but you do what you have to do. I have been battling a sickness since Thursday. It's basicly been a sore throat, but it just wrecks my voice. That usually doesn't happen when I have a sore throat, but I guess you learn new things every day. I've tried to sleep it off, but this came back to haunt me last night when I couldn't fall asleep until past four in the morning. That wasn't fun, and then all of my friends try to manipulate me into feeling bad because I missed church. I don't feel bad, because I honestly didn't feel well. I feel a lot better now, and I expect to fully recover by tomorrow. I also picked up the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Vol 2 set last night. It's pretty funny, though it does have it's bad moments. It does have one of my favorite episodes, the one with the alien that uses Master Shake as it's mouth piece. Super Spore is the name, I believe. MeWithoutYou has a new album coming out Tuesday, so check that out. I have to wait until Roper and Heislegend come out with cd's this month before I can buy it. =( -The North Sea

Thanks Chuck Norris

Currently Listening to: "Phatbeat 1303" by Blindside
Currently Playing: FFX-2
Current Devotions: 2 Kings and John
Last MST3K Watched: Time Chasers

Time for another fun filled update from yours truly! I'll help you catch up to speed. Two weekends ago, I went (along with a bunch of other friends) to my roommate's (Josh) youth revival at his church. I know that might not sound fun, but it was. I got to really bond closer with my friends as we helped Josh's church reach out to the youth of the community.

Friday: I got packed up for the weekend before my last class of the day. I had to take a quiz in my Theology 3 class (which I got a perfect on! Whoo!). Once that was done, Mona, Steve C (my friend and also the guy who drove us), and I drove up an hour away and got to Josh's church. Everything was set up (the church was set up as a late night talk show), and my guitar gear was already set up. The worship band which I was helping out practiced a bit as we waited for kids to show up. Three kids ended up coming to the church. All was not lost, however, and we canvased the area with fliers and news about the event. Overall it went well that night. When we got to Josh's house afterwards, some of the guys went camping out in Josh's backyard (which is like Calvin's backyard if you've read Calvin and Hobbes). Josh went out there to help them set up, and I went along to keep him company. It was only afterwards that I learned that there were ticks, fleas, chiggers, flesh eating zombie dogs, etc out there. Luckily I wasn't bothered by anything (except annoying prickly seed things that get on your shoes and jeans, those things suck). I think everyone learned to never bring me in the woods again unless you want to hear nonstop whining (I admit it, I am a whiner).

Saturday: Saturday Night Fever! I played guitar for worship and did sound (working with a soundboard had never been more annoying than this). Earlier in the day I did some videotaping with an old 80's video camera (the kind you put on your shoulder). Yeah, that wasn't much fun. Went to DQ afterwards and had a delicious Mysty Freeze.

Sunday: Woke up to an evil huge black spider on the wall. Needless to say, I freaked out for a little bit, took a shower, came back, psyched myself up, and smashed the thing to death. I was able to do it because I knew I killed bigger centipedes than that. Did the last day of the youth revival. Once that was over we went to Sonics for food, which was actually better than I thought it would be.

Last week was okay for the most part. Nothing really stands out besides the weekend. This past Saturday (after watching the movie Dodgeball), I finally asked Mona to be my girlfriend. She said yes, and that made me happy. We're going out on Saturday, so I can't wait for that. I'm rather excited, actually!

And that, my friends, is what I've been up to since I last talked to you. Hopefully I wont take so long to update again!

Completion

Currently Listening to: "The Singing Arc" by Joy Electric
Currently Playing: Final Fantasy X-2 (More on that in the blog)
Currently Devotion: 2 Kings and John
Currently Reading: World Lit stuff (currently passages in the Bible)

Just wanted to give another quick update. Yesterday I decided to beat Final Fantasy X. It's a great game, but I just got sick of trying to max stats. I have the files tucked away on my memory card, so if I want to finish the job I can. It went along smoothly. The end boss didn't know what hit him. I think I finished him off with blitz ace (Tidus' Overdrive). The ending was both sad and sweet. I have it so I can beat it again whenever I want (like to show my sister. I had to show my friends the "The End" screen as proof. After that I borrowed FFX-2 from Steve so I could continue the story. Now all I have to do is beat Metroid Prime and my total of games completed this year will come to the total of four. Yes, I am happy.

In my multi-media class I was finally able to work with a video camera. My group was able to go around campus and film certain spots (like bulidings). It was interesting to see what we all came up with, since five people have different ideas on what looks cool (and what doesn't). Overall Sister Mohr (our teacher) was pleased with what we came up with. They wern't perfect (shakey shots, quick zooms, ect.), but for our first try it went great.

Well, that's all I have time for at the moment. I'll try to update as soon as possible!

Stat Maxing, goodbyes, and blah

Currently listening to: Amplify by Roper
Currently Playing: FFX (slowly getting to beat it)

Yeah, I am going to put what's been going on in my life the past few weeks in a few short paragraphs.

I arrived at CBC after a slightly uneventful car trip. Josh (my roommate) and I got our room set up. Marcus came by on that Saturday, and put stickers on our door. Sadly, he had to go back to Texas, but it was cool to see him.

Steve and I saw Bleach perform one of their very last shows ever. They were great, and you could tell that they were putting their heart in it. It makes me sad that a band that I've listened to since middleschool. They will be missed. I got to meet three of the members after the show, though! Really nice guys, but I knew they would be, because when I saw them last year they were nice to me, too.

School has been going well. It's going to be a tough year, which I was kind of warned about by Pastor Jeremy. He told me that the toughest year is always Junior year.

I think I've found a church. Evangel Temple is where two of the people from my old church go to. We (my friends and I) checked it out last Sunday, and we all felt good about it.

Sorry, this is all I can put out for now, but I will try to update more since I finally got the internet back!
